स्मिता पाटिल – ज्यादातर सामाजिक मुद्दों से जुड़ी फिल्मों में ही काम किया

स्मिता पाटिल की गिनती बॉलीवुड की सबसे बेहतरीन अभिनेत्रियों में होती है। 10 साल के छोटे से फिल्मी करियर में ही उन्होंने अपने अभिनय से कई फिल्मों को अमर बना दिया। स्मिता पाटिल ने अपने पूरे करियर में करीब 60 फिल्मों में काम किया। इसमें ‘भूमिका’, ‘मंथन’, ‘मिर्च मसाला’, ‘अर्थ’, ‘मंडी’ और ‘निशांत’ और बेहतरीन फिल्में शामिल हैं।

Smita Patil’s performance in Bhumika (for which she received her first National Award at the age of 21) impressed Jaya Bhaduri so much that she commented ‘makes you sit up and take notice. Her reflexes are uninhibited and she has a face with tremendous mobility’. Probably the only actress who could do justice to critically acclaimed films like Chakra, Sadgati, Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Ata Hai, Ardh Satya, Mandi, Aakrosh, Chidambaram and on the other hand be equally comfortable with hardcore commercial films like Namak Halaal, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, Shakti and so on. स्मिता पाटिल की जब भी चर्चा होती है, तो फिल्मों के साथ-साथ उनके राज बब्बर के साथ अफेयर की भी चर्चा भी होती है। स्मिता ने राज बब्बर के साथ पहली बार ‘आज की आवाज’ फिल्म में काम किया। इस फिल्म के साथ ही दोनों के अफेयर की चर्चा भी बॉलीवुड के गलियारों में होने लगी।

हालांकि, राज बब्बर पहले से ही शादीशुदा थे। उनकी शादी नादिरा बब्बर के साथ हो चुकी थी। इसके अलावा उस समय वे दो बच्चों के बाप भी थे। फिर भी राज बब्बर ने स्मिता पाटिल के साथ शादी करने का फैसला कर लिया। स्मिता पाटिल भी राज बब्बर के शादीशुदा होने के बावजूद उनसे शादी करने के लिए तैयार हो गईं। राज बब्बर के इस फैसले के बारे में जब उनके माता-पिता को पता चला तो वे बुरी तरह से भड़क उठे। राज बब्बर के पिता ने साफ कह दिया कि राज बब्बर को अपने परिवार और स्मिता पाटिल में से एक को चुनना होगा। राज बब्बर ने घर छोड़ने का फैसला किया और 1986 में स्मिता पाटिल के साथ शादी करके अपनी एक अलग दुनिया बसा ली।

स्मिता ने शादी के बाद एक बच्चे को जन्म दिया, जो आज प्रतीक बब्बर के नाम से मशहूर है। लेकिन, प्रतीक को जन्म देने के कुछ ही दिनों बाद इंफेक्शन के कारण स्मिता पाटिल की मौत हो गई।
