Actor Kriti Kharbanda visits the Japanese fashion brand’s new store Onitsuka Tiger in New Delhi

Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger has opened its fourth store in New Delhi on 20th September 2021. Situated inside the iconic DLF Promenade Mall, the Onitsuka Tiger store is a standalone 1800 square feet space located on the ground floor. It offers an engaging in-store experience for fashion and sneaker connoisseurs. The store’s interior is uniquely designed with an exclusive wall showcasing the premium NIPPON MADE™ Collection which is 100% made in Japan and combines traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques and styling.

Actor Kriti Kharbanda visited the Onitsuka Tiger DLF Promenade store on 7th October 2021. She was dressed in the iridescent P-TRAINER™ PRZM Cinderella sneaker, matched with a Knit dress from the brand’s Autumn Winter 21 collection designed by Creative Director Andrea Pompilio.

The boutique will offer the exclusive P-TRAINER™ PRZM sneaker, which was born from a collaboration with the Amazon Prime Video Movie, Cinderella. The sneaker is based on a novel interpretation of the glass slipper.

Offering a comprehensive range of the Autumn-Winter 2021 collection designed by Creative Director Andrea Pompilio, Onitsuka Tiger’s latest collection is inspired by the majestic nature of the towering Himalayas in winter and the trekking and hiking boom of the 1970s. With the colder climate approaching in India, fashion lovers will appreciate the lifestyle technology specialized in functionality that is the origin of Onitsuka Tiger, as well as the brand’s aesthetic design details that are full of craftsmanship with meticulous attention to detail. The key apparel items in the collection can be found in the fleece material, which is excellent for keeping warm and preventing cold during winter mountaineering, and the nylon series, which offers a fusion of dazzling neon colors and intricate and unique embroidery stitches. The collection also offers creative styling that makes use of minimalist design items. Puffer coats, as well as striped jackets and dresses, create a lean and modish vibe.

In our collection of contemporary footwear, the latest models combine archival elements with contemporary designs which include boots with a strong grip as well as the HMR PEAK BOOT, which has been updated in design and functionality for a modern lifestyle. And, bigger is always better with the BIG LOGO TRAINER 2.0 PUFFED model. The style consists of an ankle height upper and iconic Onitsuka Tiger Stripes, which stretch boldly to the bottom of the outer sole. The area around the opening and instep has been carefully formed to deliver a comfortable fit that wraps around the foot. The upper is made of a combination of different materials with a tonal colorway and features a height that complements a wide range of styles.

Andrea Pompilio, Creative Director of Onitsuka Tiger: Born in Italy, Andrea grew up in a highly creative environment surrounded by his father (an architect), his mother (a painter), and his grandmother who ran a boutique. To realize his childhood dream of becoming a fashion designer, he completed his training at the Pesaro’s Art Institute and then moved to Milan to study at Istituto Marangoni. After gaining experience with various renowned brands, he presented his signature brand in AW 2011. After a collaboration with Onitsuka Tiger, Andrea became the brand’s creative director and has been in this position ever since.
